SynHealth at the EU4Health Workshop: Connecting Regional Health Innovation with European Funding Opportunities
June has been a busy month for SynHealth, with the EU project contributing to discussions on health innovation and European funding opportunities across the Western Balkan region and beyond. Continuing these outreach efforts, SynHealth was recently represented at the workshop “Opportunities of the EU4Health Programme for Healthcare Institutions in Canton Sarajevo”, held on 11 June 2026 at Europe House in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Organised by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (EU4Health Desk), the Sub-Coordination Team for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Institute for Population and Development (IPD), the event brought together healthcare institutions, healthcare professionals, civil society organisations, public authorities, and project experts to explore opportunities available through the EU4Health and Horizon Europe programmes.
Among the invited experts was Ivana Gulišija Radić from Genos, coordinator of the SynHealth project, alongside Marko Mimica from NetHub (Croatia) and Alenka Rožaj Brvar (Slovenia). Through examples of good practice, the speakers shared practical insights into preparing and implementing EU-funded health and research projects.
The workshop also featured presentations by representatives of the EU4Health Desk, followed by an open dialogue, Q&A session, and networking reception, creating opportunities for exchange between healthcare, research, and policy stakeholders.
For SynHealth, the event was another opportunity to showcase how Horizon Europe projects can help bridge the gap between research excellence and societal impact. Funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, SynHealth is advancing glycan biomarkers towards real-world application in personalised and preventive healthcare while strengthening research and innovation capacities in Croatia and Slovenia.
